The DrinkTanks Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Beer Growler is a very solid addition to any outdoorsman’s gear. It’s robust design means you can head off into the wild without worrying about your craft beer or real ale leaking from the beer growler.

The craft beer container is double insulated, which is pretty much the go-to with camping growlers as you’re far more likely to be walking or outside and away from luxuries like a fridge for extended periods of time.  The double insulated beer growler will keep your drink cool for up to a day, as is standard among the high end camping craft beer container crowd.

Here’s a nifty little info graphic from DrinkTanks.

The growler has a flip cap lid. We at beergrowler.net have written plenty of times before why we prefer these to a screw top – it mainly boils down to reducing the chances that drunken real ale drinkers like us have less of a chance of losing it after enjoying a tipple.

The growler comes in a variety of colors – and we do mean a variety. There are 16 available at the time of writing, ranging from gloss raspberry to our definite favourite growler color gunmetal.

DrinkTank’s beer growlers all come with a sticker under the cap with the government verbiage on them. It’s up to you to decide where you want to plunk it. DrinkTank says you can even keep the sticker in your wallet to show to breweries when you go to fill up.

While this might be technically legal, we are beergrowler.net reckon there is a high chance you might run into a brewer who would rather not take the chance because they’ve always seen it on the growler before, so we’d recommend being prepared to slap it on your growler.

DrinkTanks also sells a great little accessory kit, which you can attach to the top of your craft beer growler to turn it into a mini-keg. This definitely ups the wow factor for us, and will have you as the hero of a trip out to the wilderness for sure.

The main comparables for this growler are similar offerings from Miir and Hydro Flask, both of which are cheaper. They perhaps don’t feel quite as robust as DrinkTank’s in design – though in truth there is very little to distinguish them beside the colors on offer.

DrinkTank’s growler costs around US$69, depending on what color you go for. Grab it here.
